How are futures fees calculated? ▼
Per-trade fee = notional value × fee rate. Maker and Taker rates differ, with Maker usually lower. On a 10,000 USDT notional at a 0.045% taker rate, the per-trade fee is about 4.5 USDT.
What is the difference between Maker and Taker? ▼
A Maker places a limit order that adds liquidity and typically pays a lower rate; a Taker fills immediately with a market order and pays a higher rate. Using limit orders reduces fees.
Does the funding rate affect futures cost? ▼
Yes. Perpetual futures settle a funding rate every 8 hours between longs and shorts. Over long holding periods it can exceed the open/close fees themselves, so include it in total cost.
